About Us
We Are the Bus Couple
A couple that chose the road over the routine. Here is who we are, where we came from, and why we choose a set of wheels as a home.
The Man Behind the Wheel
From Combat Boots to Bus Keys
Before there was a bus, there was a soldier. A United States Army combat veteran who deployed, served, and came home carrying things you cannot see on an X-ray. The injuries are real. The disability rating is real. The determination to build a life that does not look like everyone else's — that is the most real thing of all.
The military teaches you to adapt, improvise, and overcome. Turns out that translates pretty well to ripping out school bus seats and figuring out 12-volt electrical systems at midnight. The mission changed. The mindset did not.
This journey is not about escaping anything. It is about moving toward something — more time with family, more mornings waking up somewhere beautiful, and a life built on our own terms.
The Crew
All In, Together
This is not a solo adventure. It is a family operation — kids, chaos, laughter, and the occasional meltdown (from the adults, mostly). Every mile is shared, every breakdown is a team problem, and every sunset is a reminder that we made the right call.
The kids have traded classrooms for national parks, playgrounds for riverbanks, and scheduled activities for the kind of unstructured freedom that makes for great stories and even better humans. We are figuring it out as we go — which, honestly, is the only way to do it.
The Why
Why a Bus?
Space to Breathe
A 40-foot bus gives you more room than a van and more soul than a factory RV. It is a blank canvas — you build exactly what you need and nothing you do not.
Built for Durability
School buses are engineered to take a beating. Ours has 180,000 miles on it and still runs like it has something to prove. That is the kind of reliability you want when home is on wheels.
A Project Worth Doing
The build itself mattered. Having a massive, tangible goal — something you could see, touch, and sleep in — was exactly the kind of purpose that makes the hard days worth it.
Our Story to Tell
Nobody else has our bus. Nobody else has our story. In a world full of cookie-cutter content, we wanted something genuinely ours — and that is exactly what we got.
What We Stand For
The Code We Drive By
Honesty over highlight reels
Family first, always
Veteran pride, zero self-pity
Fix it, figure it out, keep moving
Leave every campsite better than you found it
The hard stuff makes the best stories
Come Along for the Ride
We document everything — the good days, the bad days, and the days where the bus breaks down in the middle of nowhere and we laugh about it anyway. Follow along and ride with us.
